Jurys Inn Completes £1M Upgrade of Belfast Hotel

Jury's Inn Belfast

Jurys Inn Hotel Group celebrated completing a major £1 million refurbishment and upgrade of its landmark hotel at Great Victoria Street, Belfast today with an open day.

The investment in the Belfast hotel, which has taken five months to complete, includes the refurbishment of its 190 bedrooms making them equivalent in terms of contemporary design and decor to those in the very latest Jurys Inn hotels. The hotel reception, restaurant, bar and meeting areas have also all been upgraded.

The refurbishment of Jurys Inn Belfast forms part of an extensive £9 million investment programme which is being rolled out in support of the hotel group’s new brand proposition of Exceptional Everyday City Hotels.

Joe Quinn, Chief Operating Officer of Jurys Inn Hotel Group said: “The investment programme has been put in place to help us achieve our mission of becoming the mid-market leader in the UK and Ireland hotel markets by putting hospitality at the heart of UK hotel industry.

“The renovation of Jurys Inn Belfast forms an essential part of the investment programme to deliver and support our new brand proposition, which is firmly in tune with our DNA of offering great customer service, great locations and a great hotel experience to our guests.”

Commenting on the improvements to Jurys Inn Belfast, Ryan Foster, General Manager of the hotel said: “All of the changes have been heavily influenced by feedback from existing and prospective customers, as we really do want to offer our guests an exceptional home away from home.

“We’re delighted with the end result of the refurbishment – we now have the newest quality hotel rooms and facilities in Belfast city centre. The layout of the hotel also suits our diverse range of visitors, including families and business people; we’ve opened ten large executive rooms and a number of dedicated family rooms for up to two adults and two children, which is unique in the city centre.”

As part of the open day, 190 biodegradable balloons were released to mark the refurbishment of the bedrooms, with each one containing a prize which ranged from a free coffee to a complimentary overnight stay in one of the 24 Jurys Inn hotels across the UK. A buffet lunch and refreshments were also served to guests.

Mr Foster concluded: “The open day was a great success. We received many compliments from both regular and prospective customers, so I’m confident the makeover will help strengthen our customer base and help us to achieve our mission of becoming the mid-market leader in the UK and Ireland hotel markets.”

Having opened seven new hotels in 2009 the Jurys Inn Hotel Group now operates 30 city centre hotels in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Prague. Over the next two years, Jurys Inn will make further investments in new hotel openings, with Portsmouth opening this year and Gateshead and Glasgow planned for 2011.
