Galgorm Resort & Spa opens the doors to £1 million renovation
Galgorm Resort & Spa is delighted to announce the completion of its £1 million pound refurbishment of the stunning new Four Seasons Suite.
Set on the stunning River Maine, the multi-award winning Ballymena Resort is considered one of Northern Ireland’s most luxurious hotels and Ireland’s premier Wedding venue.
Designed by architects Douglas Wallace and executed by NU Quay contractors, the highly sought-after function suite has seen its capacity expand from hosting 80 guests to 120 guests. The Suite offers the most magical backdrop to celebrate your Wedding Reception and is also ideal for private parties, family occasions, conference and product launches.
A fusion of classical and contemporary design, the exclusive new Suite features its own private entrance, a sleek new reception area featuring bespoke Italian furniture, leading through to the exquisite main dining room where hand blown Murano Glass Chandeliers hang from the ceiling. A crystal glass ceiling fringe with changeable coloured lighting allows you to tailor the ambience of the room with the colour theme for your function.
Outside a private formal garden provides a beautiful backdrop to the top table with a breathtaking bespoke water feature.
A mixture of local materials and suppliers have been used with features including hand crafted furniture from Abbey, Cavalli table lights, an Onyx stone bar, limestone floor and Ulster carpets, a fully glazed movable wall, a blue limestone walled garden and rhine zinc canopy and colonade.
A spectacular launch event will take place on Sunday 12th June, 2011 between 1.00pm -6pm to showcase the Four Seasons suite in its full magnificent glory.
Acting General Manager, Paul Smyth, explained the concept behind the renovation:
“As one of Ireland’s leading wedding venues we are constantly having to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of our clients. We find that wedding couples want the unique experience that a traditional property offers while benefitting from all the modern amenities of a new design. To address this issue we sought to provide an events suite which incorporates the best of both worlds – merging classical lines with a contemporary feel and state-of-the-art facilities.”
“I am really very proud of the refurbishment. The Four Seasons Suite looks spectacular and, additionally offers a host of new event opportunities for our associates and the surrounding community."
The 2011 refurbishment is the latest in a line of enhancements worth £20 million made to the hotel over the past 5 years to ensure that, as the number one Spa hotel in Ireland, it rivals the best in the world and continues to exceed guests’ expectations.
